Why is my video a different size after I render it?
If your video is a different size other than the aspect ratio you selected from the Style Video tab, your video may have been encoded with anamorphic settings.
What are anamorphic settings?
Anamorphic settings in videos are additional settings that tell the video how to squish and stretch in a video player. This is meant to help make a video look great on different devices with different screen sizes. Unfortunately, transcoding videos, how Zubtitle works, does not work well with anamorphic settings.
Take a look at this article for help preparing your video for Zubtitle: https://help.zubtitle.com/article/169-how-do-i-fix-my-video-if-it-is-not-compatible-with-zubtitle
I recommend using Handbrake. Handbrake is a great, free video encoding application. You can find a quick start guide for it here: https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/latest/introduction/quick-start.html
The default settings typically work for most people, though. For example, if you drag and drop your video into Handbrake and press the Start Encode button, you should get another version of your video that should work with Zubtitle.
However, you will need to disable the anamorphic setting. To do this, choose the Dimensions tab in Handbrake. Then change the Anamorphic setting to ‘None.’
