How do I download my video to my iPhone?

iOS (iPhone) versions prior to iOS 13 don't allow you to download videos using a link or web browser. 😢

However, there are a number of ways you can still get your Zubtitle videos onto your phone.

Easiest Solution: Upgrade to iOS 13

The good news is, if you upgrade to iOS 13, you'll be able to download files using Safari's new Download Manager. Check for updates by going to Settings > General > Software Update.

Other Solutions

If upgrading to iOS 13 is not an option for you, yet you still need to access your Zubtitle videos on your mobile device (i.e., for Instagram posting), don't sweat. In most cases you can download your file from a desktop computer and transfer it to your device.

Using Airdrop (Mac users only)

If you're a Mac user, the easiest way to transfer a Zubtitle video to your phone is to access Zubtitle via your Mac, download the file and use Airdrop to move your video to your mobile device.

  1. Login to Zubtitle from a browser on your Mac and find the video you want to use.

  2. From the Zubtitle download page, download the video to your Mac.

  3. Play the video file using Quicktime.

  4. Click the share icon and select "Airdrop"

  5. Access the file via Airdrop on your iPhone:

Other Workarounds (non-Mac users)

Some of our iOS users have had success with the documents app:

Otherwise there are workarounds that involve opening the file in another application such as Dropbox. More info here: https://www.idownloadblog.com/2016/04/14/how-to-download-files-and-documents-to-iphone-or-ipad/

Alternatively, you can email the video to yourself as an attachment. You can then save the attachment to your iPhone camera roll and post directly to Instagram.

Posting To Instagram Via Desktop

There are ways to post to Instagram using a desktop computer. If your Instagram account is a business profile, you can use Buffer to directly schedule video posts to Instagram.

The Zubtitle Team uses Buffer to post videos to Instagram from a desktop. Buffer is an online tool that helps you manage scheduled posts to Facebook, Instagram, etc., and will also allow you to post videos directly to Instagram (for free).
